The Annual General Meeting of the Shoalhaven Beef Producers Association will be held at The Butter Factory 739 Greenwell Point Rd Pyree on Friday 18 November commencing at 6PM.
It will be followed by drinks at 6.30 and a 3 course dinner at 7.00 pm. The cost will be $45 per person + drinks. Bookings are essential.

Speaker: Neil Griffiths (NSW DPI Agronomist, Tocal) will discuss the pros and cons of poultry manure and the results from a series of trials done across NSW using alternative fertilisers.

1. Introduction – Group Q&A to find out what fertiliser related topics are of interest
2. Discussion of trial results looking at selected nitrogen and alternative fertilisers
3. Discussion on poultry litter survey results and how/when to use poultry litter

CRT is holding a number of field days over the next few months and would like to put them through to the members of the SBPA.
Upcoming Field Days
Beef Cattle Nutrition and Worm Control Ancare and Vella Stockfeeds– Tuesday 10th May – Bomaderry Bowling Club – 6.15 for 6.30 start.
Electric Fencing Field Days – Milton – Tuesday 28th June – Milton Showground (Location TBC)
Electric Fencing Field Days – Nowra – Wednesday 29th June – Nowra Showground (Location TBC)
Electric Fencing Field Days - Jamberoo Thursday 30th June – Riding for the disabled grounds
All of these days will be no charge and will have BBQ lunch provided on the electric fencing days. The Beef cattle nutrition evening will have Hot finger food.
The Beef Nutrition Night will cover predominantly worm control in Weaners with the use of Genesis B12 drench, as well as an introduction to Beef Nutrition.
Please RSVP to Jeff White for any or all of these sessions at least the day before for catering purposes.

Presenter: Greg Meaker, NSW Industry & Investment - Beef Livestock Officer
Date: Friday 20th May
Time: 8.30am for 8.45 start to 2pm-ish
Where: DPI offices, 13 Schofields Lane, Berry (first right on south side of Berry going south)
The Shoalhaven Beef Producers Association and the Small Farms Network invites all landholders to participate in the `Beef Cost of Production’ workshop.
This workshop will help you:
• Determine the true cost of production per kg beef produced
• Calculate the impact on your cost per kg of changing various inputs
Greg Meaker will provide software and take landholders through entering real farm data to review your outcomes. Upon completion of the workshop each participant will receive a copy of the software to keep.
You will need to bring on the day:
1. Laptop computer and power cord*
2. Herd structure and related numbers
3. Overheads ($ per annum) for the following;
• Repairs and maintenance
• General insurance
• Admin
• Rates and agistment
• Fuel and oil
• Electricity and gas
• Depreciation
• Pasture costs

Management committee members - there will be a management meeting at 12.30 at SCC.
