New members
Welcome to a number of new members to the group who attended:
Tim Wilson, Jeff Hoswell, Henry Goodall, Katherine and Danny Vucicevic, Jenni
Manna, Don Mitchell, Greg Mitchell, Ron and Lyn Quigley.
Education Program

Key points were ..
- Attendees asked to complete a survey on education top
- 2-3 volunteers required for sub-committee. Colin has expressed interest. Andrew Britton volunteered to join also.
- Draft calendar to be delivered at April meeting.
- Top Fodder – seeking interest – about half of those present were interested

An update on night markets (December, February) and Food Fair in January was provided.
Food Fair was successful but numbers at night markets makes participation questionable.

Rural Living website being developed
NRMA community grant of $5000 could be available to SBPA. Due 31/3/2011
Natural Sequence Farming workshop at Braidwood 5th May. Cost to be advised.
Further attrition expected from DII. Brian suggested after election further agitation to keep Berry DII staffed.
Guest speakers
Alison McIntosh – ex MLA (marketing and events) DII – NLIS project officer during implementation. Family farm Angus seed stock. Services include:
• Use of NLIS for farm planning and efficiency.
• Currently training, TAFE and other. Animal Health & Welfare
• Herd assessment, setting objectives, meeting specifications.
• Bull selection, understanding EBVs.
Kevin Tangye – was a butcher, now an assessor and buyer. Has conducted assessments for some committeee members.

An animal that wins on hoof rarely wins on hook.
To get consistency on the coast must supplementary feed (does this then go against
Calves tend to cut teeth early on the coast:
Milk teeth, two teeth, four teeth etc
Worth supplementing in last 30-60 days. Loose licks, Manildra syrup, hard feed.

Brian Wehlburg and Helen Lewis are currently teaching the Holistic Management Course at Ulladulla TAFE.
Brian and Helen will be our April guest speakers, bringing a wealth of knowledge from years as cattle producers.
Brian and Helen have agreed to join any members interested into tapping into more of their experience at Bridge Tavern, 87 Bridge Road, Nowra.
